Welcome to HQ1!
Our class is supported by Nicola Martin (Teacher) Sophie Goodland, Meg Holbrook and Laura Williams (Support Staff), who are always here to help your child thrive.
Our classroom is tailored around the Curriculum for Wales. Our classroom offers visual routines, sensory regulation spaces, and individualised support, so every pupil feels safe, valued, and empowered to communicate and grow.
Communication between home and school is key, so we will share regular updates via Seesaw.

Here is some useful information about our class:
Our PE day is on a Tuesday. Please can children come to school every Tuesday dressed for P.E. (Black joggers/shorts and trainers).
Cooking is on a Thursday. Please see Seesaw for any payment information and updates. It is £1 weekly!

Fun with food in our weekly cooking sessions
We had lots of fun on a recent trip to the Victory Church Soft Play Centre. We enjoyed practising our social skills in turn taking, waiting and finishing a favoured activity.
St David's Day
We have been creating and writing sympathy cards for the Royal Family. They were taken to Buckingham Palace and have been left with all the other flowers and cards in Green Park in London which is next to the Palace.
We all really enjoy visiting our inclusion classes where we complete activities with our peers with adult support.
Social Visits – We have enjoyed transferring our communication skills and learning new life skills when out and about in the local community.
Our Annual Trip to Barry Island
We had lots of fun: digging in the sand, paddling in the sea, flying a kite, playing beach ball, having our faces painted and eating chips and ice-cream on the sea front. We even won the sandcastle competition for the first time! A big thank you to the South Wales Rotary Club for organising the day.
