Cooking in the DRB

In the DRB classroom, cooking is more than a fun activity—it’s a meaningful way to support student growth and learning. Hands-on cooking experiences help children practice fine motor skills, strengthen math and language development, and build essential life skills they’ll carry beyond the classroom. Cooking also fosters a positive relationship with food, encourages healthy choices, and gives students a sense of pride and confidence in their accomplishments. By preparing and sharing food together, students learn to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and discover where their food comes from in an engaging, educational environment.
